The course gives basic knowledge about the functionality and programming of PLC-systems including HMI-units and troubleshooting of PLC-controlled machines.

The main focus in the course is to get the basic knowledge about PLC:s and HMI:s to be able to troubleshoot machines. This requires some basic knowledge about PLC- programming and HMI-configuration.

It is also possible to extend the course with a more advanced course in the automation area.

We use userfriendly but powerful simulationtools and we also use some physical equipment to demonstrate functions and to enable the participants to some hands on exercises. The software can be used for free 3 weeks from activation.

We use Siemens TIA-portal as standard platform in the course since that tool is the marketleader in Europe and Sweden.

The course material will be delivered by our webdisc. It includes theoretical explanations, exercises, videotutorials and more. The exercises that were presented during the course will also be available on the webdisc. The course will be recorded and be available for the participants to watch for repetitions afterwards.

COURSE CONTENT

• Hardware configuration of PLC-systems, for instance Siemens Simatic S7-1200 and S7-1500 using TIA-portal

• Basic knowledge of sensor and actor signals

• Programming of PLC-systems by TIA-portal

• Demonstration of simulated machines including PLC and HMI

• Demonstration of physical systems including PLC:s, HMI, distributed IO, smart sensors,motor control etc including the basics about industrial communication

• Troubleshooting methods for PLC-systems

Operators, electricians, constructors, service personnel that needs basic knowledge about PLC:s.

PRE REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
